THE CAROUSEL
The Magistery’s grand carousel was built in 1917 by the C.W. Parker Amusement Company and delighted riders in San Antonio’s Playland Park from 1943-1980.

This fifty-foot carousel is a rare four-abreast "Grand Jubilee” model and boasts fifty-two “jumper” figures and two chariots. It's one of only two that still exist today,
Sold at auction in 1988, this historic machine was put in storage for over three decades.

Soon to be meticulously restored for the enjoyment of all, The Magistery is honored to offer rides on this majestic carousel’s blended menagerie of original hand-carved wooden horses and extraordinary new custom crafted steeds.
THE HORSES
The Magistery’s grand carousel holds 52 horses, all of them jumpers (every one
goes up and down), providing an exceptionally immersive and kinetic experience.
The menagerie showcases original C.W. Parker hand-carved wooden horses, a collection of newly crafted steeds honoring a few iconic Texans, and a selection of C.W. Parker-inspired fantasy and folklore-based horses.
Below are a few selected images of the herd.
